Components of Fostering Futures Scholarship Program
- Fostering Futures Renewable Scholarships – Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per year provided to former foster youth. These scholarships are renewable upon proof of academic performance and meeting program requirements. Our grant recipients include the full gamut of educational pursuits, from certifications through trade schools to degrees from community colleges and/or universities, including post-graudate degrees.
- Fostering Futures Computer Program – Where needed, we provide students with notebook computers and printers.
- Fostering Futures Mentoring Program – The grant monies and computers we offer these students are not the only assistance that is needed. A key element of our program is assuring these students that their community believes in them, that, although they are on their own, they are not alone! Our volunteer mentors develop personal relationships with the students, sending personal notes, birthday and holiday gift certificates, exchanging phone calls and emails. Student feedback confirms how important this aspect of our program is to the youth.
