The People Behind the Programs

Marion Kenyon, Sheron Landis, Peggy Whalen
Marion Kenyon, President:
A native Californian, Marion is herself a former foster child. A Bay Area businesswoman for more than 35 years, her community service has included membership on the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well as serving as a Founding Director of the Felton Family Foundation and developing their program to provide psychological services to children with cancer. As co-chair of a predecessor foster youth scholarship program, Marion assisted in the expansion of the scholarship program and has played a major role in the formation of the new Fostering Futures California charitable organization.
Sheron Landis, Vice President:
A lifelong resident of Sacramento County, Sheron is a former teacher and administrator and a public and private educational consultant, in addition to years of activity in the business and real estate communities. She has three grown sons and is married to a college professor. She is an advocate for developmentally delayed children and adults and is an active mentor to youth seeking further education.
Peggy Whalen, Director:
While serving on the Board of Directors of Make-A-Wish Foundation, Peggy met Marion and their friendship has spanned more than a decade. Peggy was responsible for developing the predecessor foster youth scholarship program. In addition to her responsibilities as a wife and mother to two children at home, she is active in fundraising for schools in Contra Costa County and is committed to the expansion of scholarships and support to foster youth.
